چکیده

Abstract Clean and safe water is vital for human health, whether it used drinking purpose, food production or domestic use. The aims of study are to investigate raw quality parameters analysed Water Quality Index (WQI) at Timah Tasoh Dam. research also analyses the treated Treatment Plant, Kampung Belukar, Kechor Taman Bukit Kaya, then compared National Standard Drinking (NSDWQ) World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines. was pH, total suspended solids (TSS), chemical oxygen demand (COD), biochemical (BOD), dissolved (DO) ammoniacal nitrogen (AN). Treated copper (Cu), iron (Fe) nickel (Ni). Dam categorized as slightly polluted where its WQI index 76.94. Sources pollution related non-point sources such fishery activities, agricultural livestock wastes, wastes. For parameters, significant results showed Kaya which recorded highest concentrations Cu, Fe Ni, 1.24 mg/L, 0.76 mg/L 0.01 respectively. reason that furthest distance from thus residence time in pipe longer higher concentration heavy metals. Concentration Cu Ni complied with guideline values WHO only NSDWQ. Based on result analysis Kangar, Perlis, considered drinking.
